Cressington 328 family
ultra high quality coating

The new generation of high resolution FE-SEM and TEM causes the need to produce ultra-thin structure-free metal or carbon coating.
This requires high performance preparation systems - the strength of the Cressington 328 family coating units.

Specifications

high vacuum system, containing turbo vacuum pump and cyro pump (vacuum about 6x 10-7 mbar)

load lock system for fast sample change and extremely short pumping time

large robust steel vacuum chamber (Ø: 200 mm, h: 230 mm)

eucentric rotation tilt (r-t) sample stage for homogeneous coatings

accurate thickness monitoring via compact measurement head (optional MTM 20 thickness control monitor)

Sputter Coater 328 UHR

The 328 UHR offers a dual sputter head which allows the sequential coating of metals, keeping the vacuum.
The sputter current of the high performance HR sputter head can continuously be adjusted up to 80 mA. A wide range of sputter targets such as Cr, Ti, Ni or Ir is provided.

EB Carbon Coater 328 EB carbon

The 328 EB carbon offers Electron Beam Carbon Coating for a reasonable price. Its ultra-thin carbon coating is free of structure. Therefore they are predestined for EBSD coating and ultra-high resolution FE-SEM and TEM investigations. Replacing the EB head by a Pt/C headpin, the 328 EB carbon can be used for LARS (Low Angle Rotary Shadowing), coating biological macromolecules (i.e. DNA, polysaccharides).
